Do I Really Have a Six Year Old??

I CANNOT believe my baby is 6!!!  I must admit...I am feeling rather aged by this fact.  However, Jane gets so excited for her birthday, so I can forget about how old I actually am while I have a blast making it a  special day for her :) We decided to have a relaxed party with all our wonderful friends and neighbors!! And it was a blast!!  Here I am setting up!
Jane's dear friend from across the street had to leave early so she let Jane open her present very first!!

Here is the banquet table :) Those are lanterns in the middle with lights, and boxes of various types of candy in between!! Very fancy for Jane's sake...She eats that stuff up!!
We had lots of goodies and delicious things to eat!!
Here is Jane's VERY fancy cake!!  She drew me a diagram of what she wanted her cake to look like and I did the best I could to meet her expectations.  I think she approved :)
Here are Jane and a few of her good friends!!
Blowing out candles on a very windy day is difficult!!
Here are some of the kids enjoying their cake and ice cream!!
After cake eating, all the kids loved riding their bikes and scooters around.
 Opening presents is always fun!!
Here is Jane giving a big, thank you hug to one of her friends.
This is the darling sweater Jane got.
I had to take a picture with the birthday girl!!  I wish she would just stop growing...
Jane's friend from across the street is taking a cake decorating class and decided to make Jane a special birthday cake.  It turned out amazing!! And Jane felt very special eating her second birthday cake!!
Well, I am so proud of my sweet baby girl who is not such a baby anymore :( We have so enjoyed watching her grow up.  She is so smart and talented and very tenacious!!! We love our Janey!!

Beckham's School- C&D Week!!

Life is continuing onward here in Dover at incredible speeds!!!  I sometimes wish I could slow down time!! Just the other day Ryan and I stumbled across some old videos on his phone of Jane and Beckham when they were much smaller.  It was so much fun!!  But it made me realize how fast time flies.  So, I am really enjoying this one on one time I have with Beckham for a little while :)

For C Week, we had a lunch complete with ALL C foods!!
Made a cow...utter and all hehe!!
 Read a Caterpillar story!!
 Made a computer...
We had a fun walk where we collected things to put together as a collage!!
Beckham got to use lots and lots of glue...he really loves to glue :)
Of course we worked on his writing skills.  he is improving so much!!

We made some crystals!!
Watching them grow was as much fun for me as it was for Jane and Beckham!!  They checked on them every morning :)
I am lucky to have some left over supplies from Beckham's preschool I did last year.  So, I have made good use of those with Beckham.  We read a fun story about a broken down car. Beckham loves that he can help me with the story pieces!!
 We made a Cat!!
And ate some Cake :) My sweet little neighbor girl, who is 11 and who is Jane's dear friend, is taking a cake decorating class and made this beautiful cake for me!!  We all enjoyed it so much!!

For D week, Beckham and I fed the ducks!!
 Made a dog craft!!

Went digging in the sand :)
We made a door hanger and used lots and lots of glue...

And we practiced his letters and we also have a work book we work in every week :)
And of course he got some D treats from the grocery store like a Donald Duck Drink and Doughnut holes!!

So far this letter of the week thing has been a real success for Beckham!!  I love seeing things start to click for him :) And Jane is turning 6 on Friday!!! (Expect pictures of that!!) So, even though the kiddos seem to insist on getting older...we are certainly loving the journey!!

A and B week!!

Well, Jane is in school and it is just Beckham and I at home right now. So I have decided to do "school" at home with him!! Beckham and I have had a lot of fun focusing on letters by having a letter of the week and doing tons of fun activities for each letter!!

During A week we made an "A" Alligator craft!!
We went to our local apple orchard and bought some yummy apples...
And made homemade applesauce together!! It was delicious!!

We also took a trip to the Airplane museum with some friends!!!
We brought home an airplane from the museum that Beckham and I assembled together!! It flew really well!

During B week, we made a bath tub craft...

We made a "B" Smoothie with blueberries and bananas!! It was also delicious!!

And of course we took a trip to the bouncy house place with some friends and had a blast!!!

We also did a "bubbly" science experiment but I didn't get a chance to take any pictures :( Beckham also practices writing and recognizing his letters and remembering their sounds.  He is doing great!!  We are having so much fun together and I am actually really grateful for this time I have to spend with just Beckham and I :)

Assateague Island!!

Over Labor Day weekend we had a super fun little adventure.  It started on Thursday when I got to check Jane out of school...I felt so grown up... or let's be honest, old :)  I loved seeing her walk out of her little classroom- she looked so cute!! We headed to Rehoboth beach to take the kids to Funland.

Beckham was super brave as usual and went on all the rides...even the scary ones!
Jane waited to go on the more reasonable looking ones :)
This ride went soooo fast.  At one point Beckham began to slump over and I was sure he was going to pass out :( Thankfully, he didn't.  What a trooper!
Jane riding on a cute little ferris wheel.
The boat ride with a Mermaid in the middle was a must!!
The kids loved Funland and didn't want to leave.  However, more adventures awaited us on Assateague Island where we would be camping fro the night on the beach!!  Our campsite was very nice and had warm showers...I was especially grateful for that- hehe!!  The kids couldn't wait to get on the beach to play in the sand and swim.  To our surprise there were lots of wild ponies roaming the beach.  Oh, I felt like we were in a movie it was so beautiful!!

It was SUPER windy which made the water a little treacherous, but Ryan had fun with the kids in the waves.
I sat on the beach reading and enjoying the view...

The kids playing in the sand :)

Once we got all cleaned up from the beach we had a lovely hot dog dinner :) The wind helped keep all the bugs away as well as the heat!!.  So, it was quite a pleasant evening!

And of course, we had smores while the sun set behind us.

Our bedtime treat was popcorn while we watched a movie in the tent!!

The next morning, we were greeted with a beautiful sunrise!!!  So we watched it from the beach.

The beautiful wild ponies were there too.  It really was quite magical :)

On our way home from our amazing adventure, we stopped off in Ocean city and went miniature golfing.  I had no idea the kids were going to love it as much as they did :) We had a blast...even though I lost miserably to Ryan.

What a wonderful day we had filled with more memory making!! I love my little family so much:)
