What a fun few weeks we've had...even though there has only been a precious few sunny days so far this year! Elsie had a really darling, fun princess tea party at school!! She was so excited to be able to get beautiful and fancy for school! She had a real jeweled crown and even got to wear some mascara!!
They got to drink out of real tea cups, it was super special!
St. Patty's day has always been one of my favorite holidays. It was a huge part of my childhood since I have some Irish heritage and my Grandma Metten loved to play Irish tunes on her accordion while we all sang. We even participated in an Irish parade in Utah once a long time ago :) So now, not only does St. Patrick's day bring with it the warmer weather and beginning of Spring, but now it will always remind me of my sweet, Grandma Pat who recently passed away.
I was surprised to see that the kiddos actually still wanted to make our traditional leprechaun traps! And they were oh so passionate about making them great and actually having a real shot at catching a leprechaun!
Then we had a delicious Irish feast! I made an Irish Apple Cake with homemade custard- yum!!
We switched up dinner this year. I usually love to make Corned beef and cabbage...which I think is delicious. However, my family doesn't enjoy it quite as much as I do. So, I made some Irish Colcannon, roasted carrots and some clover shaped raviolis!
This looks a lot grosser in picture than I imagined- haha. But the raviolis were super cute and yummy!
The kiddos were so excited to set up their traps! Beckham went all out and taped up a sign that he thought might really lure the leprechauns to our traps.
Sweet, funny boy...
Here is Beckham's trap!
Elsie's ...
and Jane's...
We didn't catch any Leprechauns...but he did leave lots of gold coins around and made lots of mischief around the house :)
Spring was soon after, and we had tons of fun!! The kids and I made the journey to one of our favorite places, Sky Zone!! They made some fun new additions- lots of obstacle courses and new challenges.
Jane had fun beating the boys...
All the kids loved trying to run up the wall...
and climbing the rock wall...
then falling into the pit...
I even gave it a try...
When Beckham got up to the top he was able to push a button and everything lit up to show he'd succeeded!!
We had a blast spending lots of time together!! Now I'm excited for summer!!
