More Summer Shenanigans!!

This was the first summer we had to really explore cute little Warrensburg...aaaaand...we discovered that there are a precious few things to do with kids.  However, we managed to stay busy and have lots of fun this summer.  There is a wonderful community center with a very nice pool that we enjoyed many times this summer!!  Elsie loved floating on her stomach like a mermaid :)
About 20 minutes away there is Powell Gardens.  It is truly beautiful and we love going there! There is a lot to do with kiddos.  They even had a few weeks where the gardens were inhabited by dinosaurs :) It was really neat!!
Elsie hasn't stopped talking about Dinosaurs since...I think she was actually a little scared.  But still had fun:)

We also just enjoyed the beautiful gardens...even though it was 1000 degrees out and super humid...Missouri...(shaking head)
 Another Dino...
There was a mama and her babies off in the distance...

There is also a huge fountain that the kids love running through!
There is just the cutest little children's portion of the garden's as well...

Here is just a cute picture of my amazing kiddos. They all look so grown up :(
We have decided not to allow sleep overs.  So, I planned a super fun "late night" so the kids could invite a friend and play until later than usual.  It was super fun!!  We had pizza for dinner! And the kids all got to decorate a sugar cookie- yum!
 Elsie quite enjoyed hers!
 Beckham's was covered with treats!!
Then it was craft time after I got Elsie to bed! The girl's painted a picture frame.
And the boys put together and painted airplanes!
Here is Beckham with his best buddy, Sam, at the end of the night :)
And Jane with her BFF Melanie!
A very monumental thing happened this summer!! Jane decided, all by herself, that she wanted to get her ears pierced!! She is usually a bit of a scaredy cat, so this was big for her.  Don't be fooled by this picture of Jane with a look of sheer trepidation on her face...
 ...and utter terror...
...she does go through with it!
And she loves them so much!!
As you can see our summer was truly wonderful! There are a few more summer fun posts to come before our back to school post! Stay tuned!
