One crazy month...

Little baby Beckham has been in this world for almost four weeks now and it has been quite a ride. He is finally doing well after having a rough go of things at first. Between sinus infections, a milk allergy, digestion issues, severe constipation and projectile vommiting, Beckham hasn't been the happiest little guy. But we have been working tirelessly to figure out how to make him comfortable and happy and finally, he has been doing much better. He sleeps great at night now and has been eating much better. That's not to say we don't run into a few snags here and there, but overall, things at the Dick house have been calming down!!

But, boy he sure is a cutie and such a sweet, patient little man!!
We think red is really his color!!
Ahhhh, finally a good nights rest...for all of us...
He loves his pappa!!
Jane has really been adjusting well, too!! At least there have been no more sneak attacks on baby Beckham!! In fact, she actually kinda enjoys him :)
Best friends in the making!!!
We love our kids and are loving life...despite the craziness!!

4 years and counting!!!

Ryan and I have been married for four years now!! The big day occurred four years ago on November 23rd, 2005. These have been the happiest, most adventurous and wonderful four years of my life!! I have the sweetest, most hard working husband in the world and I am so proud of him!!

We have come a long way in four years!! A few of the highlights have been- of course having our two beautiful children, Jane and Beckham, Ryan almost making me a widow skiing down sundance (he really nearly died!!), my graduation from BYU, Ryan entering a pharmD program, getting our wonderful job at Crestline that has been such a blessing, several fabulous trips- New York, Disneyland, snowmobiling through Yellowstone, etc. etc. I have so many wonderful memories of our four years together and there will be many more to come!!

Because we had a baby two weeks ago we were unable to do anything too extravagant for our anniversary this year. So, here are a few pics of Ryan and I that I love:
Our beautiful wedding cake!!

Welcome William Beckham Dick

Love multiplies it doesn't divide!!

Our handsome little man was born on Monday, November 9th, 2009 at 1:36pm. He was 8 pounds and 4 ounces- just like Jane- and was 19 inches long- also just like Jane...Boy, I really know how to cook em :) The labor was so pleasant- yes,I said pleasant, and our little guy was healthy and happy!! I am a pleased momma!!

The first few days of Beckham's life were not without drama though. Beckham's circumcision went slightly awry and he bled more than normal and we had to stay an extra night in the hospital- poor little guy. And the worst thing that Beckham has had to endure was a sinus infection- very rare in newborns!! He couldn't breath and therefore couldn't eat!! It was so horrible to watch him struggle to breath- I shed many tears over that!! But he has been on medication and that is really clearing up and all is well again at the Dick house!!

Here is little Beckham being weighed!!
Here he is with his mommy for the first time!! Love at first sight!
I have a picture of Jane when she was first born and she is in this exact same position- they look so much alike!!
Here is Beckham at home awaiting a diaper change...never fun for him!! He has already peed during this process several times and soiled our bed, my clothes, his very own face...yikes. I have since then wised up and the "old faithful" pee episodes have since diminished- ahhh, boys!!
He's so handsome and such a good boy despite all he has been through!
Here is Jane holding her new little brother, Beckham!!! They currently have a love/hate relationship...though I know it will get better :)
And here is just a cute pic of Jane "feeding" her bunny with aunt Christina's hooter hider. Two year olds really watch and observe, don't they?! She is so cute!!
So, our little family of three is now our little family of four and we are so happy!! And love most definately multiplies, not divides!! Thank you to everyone who has been helping with Jane and bringing meals over- it has been so needed and such a life saver. We love you all!!

A spooktakular Halloween...mooohahahah

Halloween this year was the absolute best ever!! I have never had such a fun and memorable Halloween. My little Jane is getting older, we are expecting a new addition oh so soon and I am just so in love with my little family- they are the BEST and I can't get enough of them!!

The Halloween festivities began on Friday night with our annual ward party!! This is always a blast because everyone gets so into it- and I love it!! I made a gourmet snack to contribute to the vast array of scary treats and this is what I came up with...

So, I am still working on my Martha Stewart gourmet-ness....but I will get there one day :)
I was pleasantly surprised this year when Ryan decided not to be a nincompoop- he not only agreed to dress up, but he got totally into it!! Jane was a bug, I was a black widow spider and Ryan was an exterminator!! He had very convincing facial hair, a spray pack, work shirt, mouse traps and all the works!! We looked great...despite the total ginormous-ness of the 9 month prego black widow and all :)
Here is just a great candid shot of Ryan at the party...he makes a pretty handsome exterminator!!This was Jane's first year of real trick-or-treating- oh so fun!! ...Cutest love bug ever!!!
We went around Ryan's parents' neighborhood and everyone was so sweet!! Jane obviously loved it!
We practiced knocking and saying trick-or-treat with Jane so she would be a pro for Halloween night...
However, every time the door opened, she was so dumbstruck that all our practice went straight out the window and she was back to her typical act of blank staring...oh well. This is Ryan's wonderful, sweet neighbor who he grew up with. She was so fun to talk to and she was extra sweet with Jane!!
All in all, trick-or-treating was a success!!
I had to throw this one in...baby Mae is just so precious in her Halloween get-up-Aaadorable!!
"No more pictures please..."
Jane with her favorite and most adored cousin, baby Mae!!! They were sort of matching!!
Another year of the best holiday ever come and gone...ah sweet memories!!

A phone call tells all...

Lately, Jane has been jibber-jabbering so much. I love it, simply because I get to know what my darling little two year old has on her mind. Before, that was all a mystery and a guessing game. Now, I have been able to get a true glimpse into the mind of a two year old...fascinating...and darling. I find that her true thoughts come out when she gets on the phone and has conversations with whoever tickles her fancy at the moment. Here are a few conversations that come to mind:

*Ryan and I are driving in the car and Jane has my phone in the back seat...

Jane: "Hi daddy, leaves...red doggy...book...uh huh...oooh look at fireworks...I like fireworks. Hi baby Mae...baby Mae see fireworks...oooh, uh huh. Gamma's house? Yeah...yeah...ok see you later!"

*I am in the office working and Jane picks up the office phone to make a very important call (while my very important office calls get ignored...ah kids)...

Jane: "Hi daddy, um linon (aka- lion), yeah, ok, pridates (aka- a word I am too embarrased to translate becasue I am embarrassed she even knows and uses this word...), yeah, ok, see you later!"

Here is what I get from this:
-Jane would rather talk to daddy on the phone than mommy.
-Jane likes the fall just like mamma does.
-Fireworks are constantly on her mind at any point in the day.
-She learns ALOT from the the books she reads.
-She is growing up too fast...
-She loves her new cousin baby Mae so dearly!!
-And she is planning an escape to Grandma's house :)

I am positive this information will serve me well!! Ah, to be two again...so easily entertained and pleased!

Oh what fun a box can bring!!

We have been collecting boxes and gradually adding them onto this awesome fort for Jane. She has had a blast playing in it, coloring it, climbing on it and calling it "Jane's house"! It comes complete with a front door...A secret door that leads to a secret hallway...
A back room where she can stand...
and two windows that open...
Even daddy wanted to take a turn...Jane didn't like that very much :)
She promptly shut him out...
She loves when he peeks in through the windows at her though!!
Who knew boxes could be so much fun?!!!

My thoughts on Pregnancy and an awesome Mommy find...

So the time is drawing near to when we will be welcoming our new little addition into our family. In a short three weeks (or sooner...who knows) we will have a baby boy joining the Dick clan :) With the prospect of being done with pregnancy number two...here are some of my thoughts...

OK...I love that women have the great honor of being prego and helping, in such a huge way, to create a beautiful new little person. And I especially love the little gift that comes...finally, after a long nine months of waiting...

HOWEVER, pregnancy is definitely not a walk in the park. And as far as I am concerned- the bod seems to get a little more decrepit with each one. At least this has been my experience! What was seemingly a walk in the park last time has been a complete grind this time. Why the change you ask? Well, I have no idea. All I know is- I hurt (all over...)far more this pregnancy than the last, I got the "prego pooch" alot earlier this time, and I am far more exhausted this time around!!

SO I HAVE CONCLUDED, that in my perfect world, men would have the opportunity to take a spin around the "pregnancy block" at least one time. For Ryan and I...it would have been pregnancy number two that would have been HIS "Spin" :) I think this might be a good learning experience for husbands everywhere...and the wives, too :)...Plus it would just be funny!!

ANY THOUGHTS? (PS- Ryan is an awesome, supportive husband and does tons to help me- so don't get the wrong impression...these are just my thoughts :))

AWESOME MOMMY FIND!!
V8 V-Fusion juice!!! I am always concerned about Jane getting enough veggies in her diet...and that is never an easy task :) However, this juice has a full serving of fruit and veggies in each 8oz or so!! And Jane LOVES it and has no idea that I am secretly cramming veggies into her diet-hahaha. A small win for mommies everywhere- you should try it!!
